Terms of use
Plain terms for a site with no accounts, no payments and nothing to sign up for.
Agreement
By using itstechx.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, the appropriate response is to stop using the site. There is no account to close and nothing to cancel.
Who you are dealing with
TechX is operated by Teja Pagidimarri, an individual based in Hyderabad, India. Contact is by email at hello@itstechx.com.
What you may do with the content
You may read, print and share anything on this site for personal and non-commercial use. You may quote reasonable extracts in your own work, in an article, a forum post, a course or a video, provided you attribute TechX and link to the original page.
Measurements are the point of this site, so a specific note about them: if you cite a figure from here, please cite it with the conditions attached and with the OS build stamp from the article. A number lifted out of its conditions is misleading, and a number attributed to us without them is worse.
What you may not do
- Republish articles in full, whether on a website, in a newsletter, or as training input presented as your own work.
- Present our measurements as your own, or as having been taken on hardware other than ours.
- Reuse the diagrams, screenshots or other original images from this site without written permission. They were made for these articles.
- Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or circumvent any technical measure protecting it.
- Use the content in a way that misrepresents what an article actually concluded.
Permission for anything beyond the above is usually given if you ask. Write to the address above.
Intellectual property
All original text, diagrams, screenshots and code samples on this site are the work of Teja Pagidimarri unless stated otherwise on the page. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively, as set out in the disclaimer.
No warranty
This site and everything on it is provided as-is. We do not warrant that the content is accurate, current, complete, or applicable to your hardware, and we do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption. Measurements are tied to a specific machine and a specific OS build, and behaviour changes between releases.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teja Pagidimarri and TechX are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from following anything published here, including data loss, hardware damage, lost time, or a voided warranty. The disclaimer sets out the specific risks of running commands and procedures from technical articles, and you should read it before running anything.
External links
Articles link to sources we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of any external site, and a link is not an endorsement.
Privacy
How this site handles data is covered separately in the privacy policy and the cookie policy. In short there is no account system, no newsletter, and no tracking until you accept it.
Changes
These terms may change, and the date at the top of this page changes when they do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Reporting an error
These terms disclaim warranties in the usual way, and separately from that we actually want to hear about mistakes. If a figure published here does not reproduce on your hardware, or a command no longer behaves as described on a newer build, write to the address above. Corrections are made on the affected article with a dated note rather than edited in silently, and the process is described in the editorial policy.
Automated access
You are welcome to fetch pages here programmatically for personal use, for research, or to check a figure against your own results. What is not welcome is fetching at a rate that degrades the site for other readers, or scraping the full text in order to republish it. The RSS feed exists for anyone who wants to follow new articles without polling, and it is a considerably cheaper way to do it for both of us.
If part of these terms is unenforceable
If any provision here is found invalid or unenforceable in a given jurisdiction, that provision is severed and the rest continues to apply. A failure to enforce any part of these terms on one occasion is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
