Background

Eleven years in content marketing and search, which is a background in working out what people are actually trying to find out and then answering that rather than the question that was easier to write about. It is not a background in systems engineering, and this site is built around that fact rather than in spite of it.

What it produces is a particular kind of article: the question is one people genuinely search for, the answer arrives in the first hundred words, and the evidence is a number produced on a machine sitting on this desk rather than a claim borrowed from somewhere else. Every command printed in an article was run before it was printed, and every figure states how many times it was measured.

Areas covered

  • 11+ years in content marketing and SEO
  • Apple hardware and macOS measurement
  • Technical testing and reproducible methodology

Method

Everything published here is measured on hardware owned outright, using utilities that ship with macOS so any reader can repeat the test without installing anything. Run counts and conditions are published beside every figure, and articles carry the exact OS build they were tested against. The full method, including its limitations, is on the how we test page.

Corrections are welcome and are handled openly. A measurement that does not reproduce on your machine is a useful finding, not a complaint, and it gets investigated. The editorial policy describes how corrections are made.
